Batiste  Dry Shampoo in Blush

This dry shampoo works just like the original Batiste, but with a much prettier scent.  I first picked this up years ago because the original was sold out.  I was scared that the scent would have an overwhelming rose scent, but it is more like understated soft floral.  Perfect for Spring.

Nivea Soft

This is my most recent discovery in terms of skin care and I am truly glad I found it.  Although I have mostly oily skin and this cream is a rich, thick moisturizer, it is literally the best I have ever used.  It keeps my cheeks moisturized and sinks in my t-zone quick without leaving my skin greasy.  It is also a great base for my makeup in the morning.  Another perk is that it has literally healed my eczema on my hands.  I have just been rubbing the remaining cream on my hands after moisturizing my face and my hands are now almost completely eczema free and soft!

Lavanila “The Healthy Deodorant” in Vanilla Lavender

If you are a natural deodorant user, you need to buy this deodorant.  It wears like a traditional deodorant, not a gel or liquid like most natural deodorants.  Lavanila also have a wide range of scents, as well as a more powerful version for active (or extra sweaty) ladies.  The only con is the price – this costs about $20 – but so worth it!

Garnier Micellar Water

I decided to test this micellar water out since it is much cheaper than the Bioderma micellar water, which I absolutely love.  The Garnier one is just as good, but only $8 to 10 dollars – I got mine on sale.  If you do need a good makeup remover, do give this one a try.  They do have a waterproof makeup version as well.

Marc Jacobs Honey

This perfume has returned for Spring.  It is my signature spring and summer scent.  It is a sweet/floral scent and is absolutely gorgeous.  If you are in the market for a new scent for spring and summer, I definitely recommend it.

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer in Cocoa Radiant

I am not normally a Vaseline kind of girl, but this is the easiest moisturizer ever.  Spray and rub – put your clothes on, no greasiness at all.  If you are a lazy girl, or just hate having to wait ages to put your clothes on after moisturizing, pick this up.  It also comes in two other scents, but the cocoa radiant is definitely my favourite!

Hope you enjoy.  Did you have any favourite products for April?

Makeup Haul – YSL, Stila, Kat Von D

Stila CollageKVD CollageYSL Collage

I recently had a small spending spree at Sephora, picking up some bits and pieces I had been coveting for a while.  My typical makeup style is very neutral and my inspiration usually comes from Anna Saccone (annasaccone.com).  I saw her wearing the YSL lipstick in ROUGE VOLUPTÉ, colour 1 – nude beige and I knew I had to have it.  This lipstick goes on looking frosty pink, and once settled (thank goodness), turns into a gorgeous nude pink.  The packaging is gorgeous, with the standard YSL gold packaging and the colour of the lipstick noted around the centre.  I will definitely be buying more of these lipsticks, however, since they are a bit pricey at $40, it may be some time before I splurge again.

While we were visiting family in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia recently we popped into the Shoppers Drug Mart and I saw the Stila Eyes Are the Windows palettes.  I was instantly attracted to the palette called “soul”.  It wasn’t until we arrived home that I decided I needed it.  The colours are neutrals with warm tones.  Lots of golds, browns, and rose-toned shades with both matte and shimmer colours.  I have played around with several eye looks so far, and I am impressed with the pigmentation and blending power of the shadows.  This palette is also priced very reasonably at approximately $60 for 12 shades.

My next purchase I think came out of necessity, although lets be honest, probably not so much.  I have been having liquid eyeliner problems.  I have bought a few drugstore brands of the marker pen-style eyeliners and they are so watery or very light on pigment.  It got very frustrating so I decided to go higher end.  After watching several makeup tutorials and reading various blogposts, I decided I absolutely needed the Kat von D ink liner.  It does as it promises, stays on all day.  It is probably the easiest liner I’ve used as it has a small pointed applicator which allows for easy application and thin lines.  If you have been struggling with liquid eyeliner, I suggest you pick this one up.

Thanks for reading – and more hauls coming up soon!
